Program Teachers

The Artist’s Journal in France is led by two couples, Patricia Pelletier and E.W. Ross, and Olivia Petrides and Tom Greensfelder. All have taught for over twenty years at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and elsewhere. All are practicing and exhibiting artists. They have led this trip for the last six years.
Patricia Pelletier

Adjunct Associate Professor, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Education Department. Artist/facilitator, State of the Art Program, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Artistic Co-director, Fluid Measure Performance Company. Storyteller, Art and Myths. Performances: Athenaeum Theater, Dance Center of Columbia College, Randolph Street Gallery. Awards: Illinois Arts Council Artists’ Fellowships. Artist in residence: Ragdale Foundation, Lake Forest, IL. Attended L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, and lived in France for several years. MFA, School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Educator, writer, storyteller and performance artist.

Olivia Petrides

Adjunct Associate Professor, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Painting and Drawing. Public Collections: Smithsonian Institution; United States Park Service; Field Museum; Illinois State Museum, and the Hafnarborg Institute of Art in Iceland. Solo exhibits: Nordic Museum, Seattle; the Hellenic Museum, Chicago; Field Museum, Chicago; the Hafnarborg Institute of Art, Iceland; and the Madison Museum, Yellowstone National Park. Awards: Fulbright Scholar,1993; American Scandinavian Foundation Awards, 1994, 2000; Artist in Residence: Reykjavik Municipal Art Museum. E.W. Ross

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Painting and Drawing. Former Dean, Continuing Studies and Special Programs, SAIC; Program Director, Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residencies. Recent one or two person exhibitions: Western Michigan University; Chicago Cultural Center; The Cliff Dwellers, Chicago; L'Acadie Gallery, Cajarc, France. Taught: Yellowstone Institute; Ox-Bow School of Art; Anderson Ranch; The Studios of Key West. Awards: Illinois Arts Council Individual Artist's Fellowship; Alliance of Independent Colleges of Art Grant; Illinois Arts Council Governor's International Arts Exchange Grant. Teacher and visual artist.

Tom Greensfelder

Principal, Magichead Design. Graphic Designer, illustrator and lettering artist. Has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Loyola University, the Newberry Library and the Center for Book and Paper Arts, Columbia College, Chicago. Member of the Board of Teatro Vista… Theater with a View.

Charlotte Alain
Charlotte Ince & Alain Prillard

Charlotte Ince and Alain Prillard are our wonderful French liaisons for Artists' Journal in France. Charlotte is a painter and studied at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Alain is a painter, printmaker and sculptor, who also studied at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts. He operates an art gallery in St. Cirq. Charlotte and Alain have lived in Cregols, a small village near St. Cirq, for the last ten years.
